Who We Are
Calvary Chapel Ascend has been formed as a fellowship of believers who desire to grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ by studying God’s inerrant Word, and applying it authentically to our lives. We fellowship with the Calvary Chapel Association founded by Pastor Chuck Smith in 1965 in Costa Mesa, California. We meet Sundays at 10 am, and Tuesdays at 7 pm. We gather in the Fellowship Hall of the College Ave Church of the Nazarene in Whittier, CA.
Pastor Frank and Darleen Mayorga:
Pastor Frank is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Ascend and is supported in ministry by his wife Darleen. Darleen oversees the women’s events and ministries. Pastor Frank and Darleen received the Lord at Calvary Chapel of Downey under the pastoral teaching, and care of Pastor Jeff Johnson. They have been in the Lord for over 25 years and have served in many different capacities throughout their life, and marriage, including overseas as missionaries. They have three children Luke, Anna, and Hope.

Pastor Nick is an assistant pastor at Ascend. He oversees the worship team as the worship leader. His wife, Malissa, faithfully assists with the worship ministry alongside him.

Ismael serves as an Elder on the Board of Directors for Calvary Chapel Ascend. His wife, Rita, teaches the women’s Bible study on the first and third Fridays of each month. She has been faithfully teaching the Word of God and discipling women for over 20 years.

Steven and Linda serve as the Children’s Ministry Overseers at Calvary Chapel Ascend. God has gifted them with a deep love and clear vision for our children. They lead a dedicated team of children’s ministry workers each Sunday and Tuesday evening. If you have any questions about the children’s ministry, feel free to stop by and see them on Sundays!
Eliseo & Victoria Caamal
Eliseo and Victoria serve together in our multimedia ministry. Eliseo assists with the audio team, helping with setup and teardown each week, while Victoria also serves faithfully in our hospitality ministry.
Mike & Imelda Hernandez
Mike and Imelda serve faithfully at Ascend weekly. Mike serves in both our security and usher ministries, helping ensure a safe and welcoming environment. His wife, Imelda, leads our hospitality ministry, lovingly preparing a beautiful spread of food and desserts each week for everyone to enjoy before and after services. Imelda is also in charge of decorations for special events.
Dan and Lisa Maldonado faithfully serve together at Ascend. Dan leads our usher team as Head Usher, ensuring that each service runs smoothly and with care. His wife, Lisa, oversees our greeter ministry, where her team welcomes you at the door with a warm smile and a bulletin as you arrive!
